At the end of the day, Gears Tactics transitions the series into a new genre admirably well. Although there is much to be desired regarding mission variety and replayability, the developers did a great job interweaving classic Gears combat and weaponry into a tactical format, making for a positive experience over

The Boomshot Relic is one of the best weapons that damage enemies with its three explosive shorts at once. The relic changes the Boomshot that makes it easier to fire by holding down the trigger to shoot three Explosive rounds at the same time. With this weapon in hand, the rate of damage increases in a short amount of t

To top it off, Tactics nails the reconstruction of familiar enemies in a turn-based world. Boomers are just as terrifying and stompy, Tickers just as erratic and hyperactive, Kantus just as loud and obnoxious . There are a few new foes to discover too, but the core army of bad dudes didn’t require many tweaks to remain interesting and formidable. As it turns out, the Locust are just as robust in a strategic sett

Downed allies are in a precarious position. Attacks from enemies can easily render them useless for good, resulting in a failed mission or death of the associate. So try and rescue them any time there is an opportunity. And as this goes on, be careful. It is always good to first clear any enemies close as going for them in a dangerous situation might cost a player AP, which would have otherwise been used to do other thi

If there is one aspect of Gears Tactics that is obviously better than the XCOM games, it’s the boss battles. XCOM doesn’t really have boss battles; there is a final engagement against stronger enemies than those normally encountered, but that’s not really a "boss battle". Occasionally, players in Gears Tactics will find themselves facing an enormous creature that towers over the battlefield. Defeating these gigantic boss creatures gives players an immediate sense of accomplishment that is sometimes lacking in the XCOM games. These boss battles also really help break up the monotony of fighting the same alien soldiers over and over – which is a problem from which the XCOM games suffer on occas

This weapon was found in the laboratory Mount Kadar and since then it has been used many times in the SLG game DLC to complete many tasks and challenges. It is one of the best weapons to use when you want to shatter your enemies into pie

The One-Shot is an electrically charged magazine that fires 20mm rounds bullets with high speed. One-shot comes with amazing firepower and killing speed that makes it one of the best weapons in Gear Tacti

Similarly, significant hits cannot be scored in Overwatch fields ( The only exception to this is the unlock-able ability on snipers). Also, it is very easy to kill allies if the Overwatch is pointed towards them. So try to stagger the cones in such a way that shots do not over

Thankfully, there’s another way. The player can place a Proximity Mine on an e-hole, and it won’t just close the hole; it will also kill the enemies that were to emerge from that hole. The Proximity Mine is a Scout ability the player can unlock. This move even earns an achievement in the game, so it’s no exaggeration to say that experimenting can reap significant rewards in Gears Tacti

Completing research on a new piece of technology gives players a sense of being one step closer to winning the war against the alien invaders. Gears Tactics doesn’t have a research system, and instead uses a more character driven system for story advancem

If the player wants the Vanguard to be a dominant offensive force, skills found in the Warden and Shock Trooper trees are ideal. The Warden branch, in particular, allows for the creation of an exemplary tank. Picking up the Distraction skill allows the Vanguard to force enemies to fire on them, taking the heat off of other team mates under threat. This synergizes excellently with the Badass skill; shearing a full 75% of the damage of the first shot to hit the Vanguard on every turn means they are more or less guaranteed to come out nearly unscathed. Even if they don't grabbing the Self Revive skill means that even death won't keep them down, causing them to pop back up after the first time they get dropped. For a more field control based approach, the combination of Breach, which causes Locusts caught in the skill's radius to give up AP and health to their killer on death, and demoralize, a weapon attack that both damages and debuffs enemies hit by it, makes the Shock Trooper ideal for asserting control over a bat

Is there an enemy ‘overwatching' near the end of the battle or in a tight spot? Don't forget a grenade. Although it is a good idea to save missiles, they usually have massive adverse effects on enemies because of their long cooldown feature. Even formidable enemies like Kantus and Boomers will have it extremely rough with stint grenades. They can revive injured allies from afar and offer the entire battalion with a new lease of life if they are in a gr
