It shouldn't be hard to understand that a woman whose entire life was taken from her in the blink of a winter night, now resents the open world Game walkthrough and everyone in it. If it wasn't for Arthur, Sadie might have had a much darker character traject
Micah never once takes into consideration anyone around him and is simply hellbent on getting his stuff back at any cost. This is the first of many events that help showcase where Arthur falls in the spectrum of criminals who are completely evil and those just trying to make a life for themsel
Some people go their entire lives trying to search for purpose. The moment her normal life was taken from her, it seems Sadie understood what she must do. As she grew into a capable member of the gang you could see that revenge and vengeance were her driving fact
Marston used their conflict to try to gather the information he wanted and had no qualms about killing people from either side, even though they were supposed to be his allies. He only fully committed to the rebels once the army figured out he was aiding them b
After bringing him home, life was back to normal - or rather, the new normal. I pretty much immediately went back to writing about and reviewing video games. But now, I was doing so with more of a financial-driven interest, while at the same time navigating how to be a father and helping out in any way I co
The trio runs into a bit of trouble at the train station when Beau’s cousins attempt to stop them, though Arthur is able to save the day. They finally stop at Riggs station, and Penelope and Beau opt to take a stagecoach to Boston It’s presumed the pair get married as they had planned, and finally bring an end to the Braithwaite-Gray feud. Considering most of the Braithwaite and Gray members had already been wiped out by the Van der Linde gang at that point, it seems like the feud was already over... but at least Romeo and Juliet got a (somewhat) happy end
Micah is just one of many performances in the game that are brilliantly acted by the cast. Peter Blomquist plays Micah and does a phenomenal job. He's not new to Rockstar Games as he also played Dr. Harlan Fontaine in 2011's L.A. Noire . As we'll get into later, it's hard to get an audience to truly hate a character. Video games as a medium are slowly reaching a point where the voice actors are getting the recognition they deserve, and that's likely due to storytelling in video games increasing in quality almost exponentia
Nothing feels better than seeing an evil person get what they deserve. Many fans were likely upset when Arthur met his end and they were left with the knowledge that Micah got away with it. Thankfully in the game's epilogue justice was served and players were able to take Micah out with the help of Sadie. In some ways this makes Micah's end feel more earned and true to his character. He didn't die in a glorious manner at the hands of an altruistic figure, he was killed in the snowy mountains alone with no pomp or circumstance. The death he deserved it se
Marston was only a child when he was taken in by Dutch so he can be forgiven for joining the gang in the first place. But even when he matured, he stuck by the gang for a long time. He didn't even seem to have issues with the heartless actions of the gang until Dutch started to turn on
My father only provided me the framework for knowing what NOT to do, like, NOT calling my potential future son a "bad boy" for crying while being sick. NOT dropping my potential future son off at his aunt’s house when I’m supposed to be spending the weekend with him. NOT having an entire other family with children, and failing to wish my potential future son a happy birthday every single y
Things escalate when the Braithwaites realize the Van der Linde gang's true intentions. They kidnap John Marston ’s son Jack in retaliation, leading the gang to confront the Braithwaites at their manor. After a massive gunfight in which the gang appears to kill all of the Braithwaites, they find the matriarch, Catherine, hidden away upstairs. She eventually admits to giving John's son to Angelo Bronte. Before Arthur and his comrades set out to Saint Denis to look for the boy, they set fire to the Braithwaite manor. Catharine then shockingly runs back into the building, ultimately to her de
John's journal, on the other hand, isn't quite as fanciful, despite him being a much more verbose character in person. As the main protagonist of Red Dead Redemption and the avatar which players take control of after Arthur Morgan's death in Red Dead Redemption 2, John isn't afraid to let people know he isn't keen on keeping thoughts and feelings internal when they need to be expressed, and he isn't the type of person to go in for such highfalutin concepts as art and education. Although he still sketches each new animal that he comes across, John's drawings are simple, almost child-like, and when he writes he adds lines underneath his words so that he doesn't end up scribbling all over the p
